FENTRESS COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE ARRESTS JAMESTOWN MAN AFTER SHOTS FIRED AT NEIGHBOR

A Jamestown man was taken into custody Thursday evening following an incident where shots were allegedly fired at a neighbor from a residence on Old Allardt Road.

During the evening hours of August 13, 2026, deputies with the Fentress County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area after receiving reports of shots fired. Callers indicated an individual at 1313 Old Allardt Road had been shooting at a passing vehicle on the roadway.

As a safety precaution, law enforcement temporarily shut down Old Allardt Road while officers established a perimeter. The Fentress County Sheriff’s Office, aided by the Jamestown Police Department, secured the scene and approached the suspect’s residence.

Officers gave verbal commands for the suspect, identified as Doyle Jones, to step off the porch. Jones complied and was taken into custody without further incident. Once authorities confirmed the active threat had been neutralized, the roadway was reopened to the public.

Jones has been booked into the Fentress County Jail on a $10,000 bond and faces the following charges:

  • Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon

  • Reckless Endangerment with a Deadly Weapon

The investigation into the incident remains active.

Note: All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
