Infrastructure & Facilities Resolutions
Commissioners voted on two major development proposals:
- SR 299 Improvements (Resolution 08-2026-1): Passed unanimously (13-0), authorizing County Mayor Foster to sign an agreement with the Tennessee Department of Transportation for major upgrades to SR 299 (Westel Road) from near Pig Path Road to the I-40 interchange. The project features widening, turn lanes, drainage improvements, sidewalks, and I-40 bridge/ramp enhancements. Pig Path Road will remain open.
- Community Complex Architectural Services (Resolution 08-2026-2): Approved 11-2 (Commissioners Lowe and Seiber voting against), authorizing an agreement with Upland Design Group for architectural and engineering services at the Cumberland County Community Complex. Plans include covering the arena, updating lighting, restrooms, and concessions, alongside designing a potential convention center.
