MAN SENT TO HOSPITAL AFTER SINGLE VEHICLE CRASH IN ROANE COUNTY TUESDAY
A single vehicle accident in Roane County Tuesday afternoon sent one man to the hospital. The Highway Patrol says that 60-year-old Benny Lawson of Harriman was traveling south on Sugar Grove Rd. in the area of the Centers Ferry Bridge around 12:30 PM, when he ran off the roadway, plunged down an embankment and struck a tree. Lawson was partially trapped in his Ford Ranger and had to be freed by Blair Rescue Squad and EMS personnel. He was transported to Methodist Medical Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
