A Rhea County woman has been indicted by a grand jury on multiple counts of elder abuse. Court documents state 47-year-old Alberta Owensby lacerated a 74-year-old man’s leg that was in her care earlier this year. The injury was so extensive that the victim had to be taken to Erlanger Medical Center. Owensby faces aggravated assault, adult neglect, assault with a deadly weapon and two counts each of domestic violence and adult abuse.
