AAA SAYS CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR’S TRAVELING UP 1.5% OVER LAST YEAR

According to AAA, over 103 million Americans will hit-the-roads for travel during the Christmas and New Year’s holidays. The forecast represents a 1.5 percent increase, or 1.5 million more travelers than last year and the highest total volume since AAA began tracking holiday travel in 2001. Experts say that the increase is due to additional consumer spending, low gas prices and increased consumer optimisim prompting more traveling on roadways and in the air.
