ACCIDENT SENDS TWO TO AREA HOSPITALS

A single vehicle accident in Overton County this morning (Monday, October 2, 2017) resulted in two injuries. Troopers say a 2004 Nissan Quest driven by 77-year-old Roger Mabrey of Cookeville was traveling on Old Highway 42 near Highway 111 when he ran off the road and hit a culvert. Mabrey was flown to Vanderbilt Medical Center for treatment of injuries. A passenger in his vehicle, 82-year-old Mary Elizabeth Cowman of Cookeville, was transported to Cookeville Regional Medical Center for treatment of injuries sustained.
