ACTIVE SHOOTER CIVILIAN RESPONSE CLASS TO BE HELD
The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office will hold an active shooter civilian response training class at the Old Fashioned Church on 10th Street in Crossville on December 1, 2017, at 6:30 PM. The class will be open to the public and is free of charge. The class is designed from the ALICE model (Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, Evacuate) which provides preparation and plans for individuals and organizations on how to more proactively handle the threat of an aggressive intruder or active shooter event. Whether it is an attack by an individual person or by an international group of professionals intent on conveying a political message through violence, ALICE Training option based tactics have become the accepted response.
