ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON PHARMACY ROBBBERY RELEASED

More information was released today by Roane County authorities regarding the armed robbery of a pharmacy earlier this week. Tuesday just after noon, officers with the Harriman Police Department were dispatched to an armed robbery at the CVS Pharmacy, located at 1136 South Roane Street. Officers arrived on scene and determined that the suspect had already fled the area. Officers learned that a white male, approximately 6 feet tall and wearing a camouflage jacket, dark knit cap, sunglasses, carrying a pistol concealed on his person, had entered the store and walked back to the pharmacy area. Witnesses stated that the suspect handed over a note demanding a large amount of Oxycodone and displayed the pistol, placing the pharmacist in fear for his life and the public’s safety. The pharmacist complied by handing over a box of Oxycodone and the suspect left the store. Investigators arrived on scene and quickly went to work watching surveillance video and was able to broadcast the suspect’s clothing description and vehicle description to other police units. The suspect drove passed Roane County Sheriff’s Investigators on Highway 70 in the Midtown area. The suspect was detained without further incident and turned over to investigators with the Harriman Police Department. Investigators found evidence of the robbery in and around the suspect vehicle being driven by 31-year-old William Folger including but not limited to the clothing the suspect was seen wearing in the video. Folger was taken to the Harriman Police Department for questioning and then to the Roane County Jail on charges of aggravated robbery and possession of drug paraphernalia. Through the continued investigation the Harriman Police Department, officers received additional information concerning the robbery. Late yesterday, Investigator Brian Turner and Detective Kasey Mynatt recovered 636 of the stolen Oxycodone HCL 30mg pills from the armed robbery from Folger’s residence. An additional arrest has been made. The name of the person arrested was not immediately released. The estimated street value of the recovered narcotics is $19,110.
