ATTORNEYS TO ASK FOR JUDICIAL DIVERSION IN DEADLY SCHOOL BUS CRASH

Attorneys for the school bus driver accused of six counts of vehicular homicide in a Chattanooga school bus crash, continue to push for judicial diversion for their client. Johnthony Walker’s attorneys will return to court Thursday to make the case to offer Walker probation and to ask for dismissal. They say that there is no public outcry to incarcerate their client, who has no prior criminal record and who was holding down two jobs to provide for his family. They also say that Walker was attempting to avoid a collision with another vehicle at the time the crash took place last November. According to court officials, Walker is not eligible for judicial diversion until he pleads or is found guilty.
