A new bill proposed in Tennessee would make it illegal for anyone under the age of 18 to use tanning beds. Presently, teens can start going to tanning beds at 14, as long as they’re accompanied by a parent or guardian. If House Bill 1489 is passed, any business that violates the new rule faces up to $500 in fines. The American Cancer Society says skin cancer rates are on the rise, including melanoma, which is the deadliest form of skin cancer.
