BOMB THREAT REPORTED AT SPARTA RITE AIDE FRIDAY

Sparta Police and Emergency Personnel worked the scene of a bomb threat Friday. An employee of the Rite Aid on W. Bockman Way, received a call at 1:40 PM from an unidentified male caller who stated that several bombs had been planted in the store on the previous night and unless she complied with his demands he would set them off. The employee immediately contacted police while all customers and employees were evacuated from the building. A search was conducted by officers working alongside a K-9 officer from Putnam County. No explosive devices were found on the property and the scene was cleared. Officials said that several such bomb threats were made around the state Friday. Picture courtesy of Sparta Live.
