BURGLAR HELD AT GUNPOINT IN ROANE COUNTY TUESDAY MORNING

A Harriman man was arrested early this morning after a home invasion was stopped by the homeowners holding him at gunpoint.

Roane County deputies responded to the scene on Webster Road around 3:30 Tuesday morning after receiving a call of a burglary in progress. Deputies arrived to find the homeowner armed with a rifle holding 41-year-old Homer Pamell Fox of Harriman at bay. The firearm was put away and officers allegedly gave Fox several verbal commands to get on the ground which he did not move. One deputy deployed his taser sunning Fox until he complied with officers. Authorities say Fox broke into a vehicle outside of the residence during the incident. The homeowners told deputies that Fox had been to their residence in the past to help with remodeling.

Fox is charged with aggravated burglary with home invasion, burglary, and theft.
