CHATTANOOGA FATAL SCHOOL BUS DRIVER GRANTED LOWER BOND
The Chattanooga school bus driver charged with six counts of vehicular homicide has been granted a lower bond. Hamilton County Criminal Court Judge Don Poole has granted the request made by attorneys for Johnthony Walker in court last week. Walker’s bond was reduced from $100,000 to $50,000 and if he can make the bond, he will be under supervised release. Judge Poole granted the bond reduction citing such facts as Walker had never been in trouble with the law beforehand, had held down two jobs at the time of the incident, had strong family ties and heard testimony from responsible individuals on Walker. If he is released, Walker will not be allowed to get behind the wheel and will wear a GPS ankle monitor.
