Cookeville street personnel were called to an area of East Spring Street Tuesday morning where a portion of the road was washed away. The washout was attributed to a water main break of a 4 inch line. Motorists are being asked to avoid the road from the Board of Education/Highway 111 to the Beverly Hills Market/Chuck Johnson’s Nursery. Please seek an alternate route. There’s no word on when the roadway will reopen.
