CROSSVILLE ACTRESS TO REGULARLY APPEAR IN HIT AMC SHOW

AMC has announced that Crossville native Julie Ann Emery has signed on to be a regular on the hit show “Preacher” starting with the upcoming season two. The new season starts at 8 p.m. central time June 19 on AMC.

Preacher” is based on the DC Vertigo comic book and follows a God-power possessing West Texas preacher Jesse Custer who embarks on a road trip to find God. Custer is joined by his loose cannon ex-girlfriend Tulip and an Irish vampire named Cassidy. Along the way, the trio have no choice but to drive through parts of Hell, with the Saints of Killers on their tail. Emery plays the role of Amy Grinderbinder in the show, an old schoolmate and friend of Tulip. Amy is responsible for introducing Tulip to Jesse and producers of “Preacher” say Amy’s character ultimately ends up playing a key part of in the season two storyline.

Preacher” is co-produced by AMC Studios, the same company that produces several hit shows including “The Walking Dead”.

Emery started her career in acting at the age of 16 and has appeared in several stage productions. She has appeared in television shows and movies such as Better Call Saul, NCIS, NCIS: New Orleans, CSI:Miami, Commander in Chief, Bones, Army Wives, E.R., Hitch, Taken and Fargo. Her next appearance in a feature movie will be “Gifted” playing the role of Pat Golding. “Gifted” is set for release April 12, 2017 in theaters nationwide.

Emery was born and raised in Cumberland County and graduated from Cumberland County High School in 1990. She is the daughter of Gary and Janice Emery of Crossville.
