CUMBERLAND COUNTY COMMISSION PASSES SEVERAL RESOLUTIONS

The Cumberland County Commission passed several resolutions at Monday night’s meeting. County Fire Chief and EMS Director Jeff Dodson will be retiring at the end of the year. The commission has said in the past that the combining of the two jobs has proved inefficient, so they have agreed to separate the positions placing the Fire Chief at Grade 12 on the pay scale and EMS Director at Grade 13.  $10,000 was approved to help purchase radios for Lake Tansi Security Enforcement. It was previously approved to assist the Fairfield Glade community with radios. The money will be directed through the Sheriff’s Dept. Commissioners also voted to approve the sale of the Youth Center as surplus property, voted to approve the correction of a financial error in the Soil Conservation Dept., and approved a change to commission rules concerning seat vacancies.
