A Crossville-Cumberland County Central Communications Center (E-911) dispatcher will be honored with the 2018 National 9-1-1 for Kids Heroes Award. Jennifer Hall is set to receive the award during a ceremony at the Music City Convention Center in Nashville at 2:30 p.m. central time Monday (June 18, 2018). Hall was nominated by the Crossville-Cumberland County Central Communications Center Director Rod Shoap. “Jennifer is very deserving of this award. She had worked and devoted her personal time to further develop a program that has brought emergency communications to the forefront in our county. She has organized and led a team of dispatchers who have touched the lives of thousands of our Cumberland County school children as well as adults in our communities. We are all much safer today thanks to the hard work and dedication of Jennifer and this team of dispatchers,” said Shoap. The other dispatchers on the team include Valerie McQueen, Deidre Stout and Shalee Sapp. They will receive the “Exceptional Duty Citation” from the Central Communications Center for their hard work and dedication. Sapp will also be making the trip to Nashville to wear the Red E. Fox costume during the ceremony. Red E. Fox is a national symbol the school children all recognize as a 9-1-1 teacher and hero. Hall will be accompanied to Nashville by her husband, John Hall, who is Assistant Fire Chief and 44 year member of the Cumberland County Fire Department. Jennifer Hall is the only dispatcher in the state who will be receiving this award Monday.
