CUMBERLAND COUNTY MAN SENTENCED FOR ATTEMPTED RAPE OF A CHILD

A Cumberland County man has been sentenced for the attempted rape of a child. Criminal court officials say Michael Joseph Pigg was given 15 years in prison by Judge David Patterson. The charge stems around a incident at Pigg’s residence in December 2012 involving a then 12-year-old female. Pigg was originally charged with rape of a child but was allowed to plea to the lesser charge. Pigg will have to serve at least 5 years before being eligible for parole.
