CUMBERLAND COUNTY TRAFFIC STOP NETS POT, PIPE

Saturday evening, when Cumberland County deputies pulled over a vehicle in the Kroger parking lot, the registration tag on the car came back as not being on file. The driver, whose eyes were red and bloodshot, claimed he has a tag for the vehicle, but he doesn’t have a screwdriver with which to attach it. When asked if there was anything illegal in the vehicle, he said no. When deputies asked why his eyes looked red, the driver looked over at the passenger, 20-year-old Seth Christian Skaufel of Crossville, who admitted they’d been at the rec park, smoking weed. So the deputy asked again if there was anything illegal in the vehicle. This time they admitted there was some weed in the car. A search of the vehicle netted a bag of marijuana and a pipe. Skaufel claimed they were his. Skaufel was cited for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He’s due to appear in court May 6.
