DARE PROGRAM RETURNS TO ROANE COUNTY
The Roane County Sheriff’s Department has announced that the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) program is back. Student resource officers with the sheriff’s office began implementing the program at Ridgeview and Dyllis Springs Elementary Schools. According to Lt. Daryl Cook, the goal is to eventually have all Roane County schools covered. The D.A.R.E. program is an education program that seeks to prevent use of controlled drugs, membership in gangs, and violent behavior.
