DOG ATTACKS CUMBERLAND COUNTY DEPUTY
Last Tuesday, a Cumberland County deputy went to a residence off Gordon Lowe Road in Rockwood. As the deputy was approaching the house, he noticed two dogs on the front porch secured by a cable lead. After announcing his presence, the owner warned the deputy that the dogs were aggressive. The smaller of the dogs, charged at the deputy breaking the lead leash and attacking the deputy in the right lower leg. The owner tried to chase after the dog away while it was attacking.
According to the report, the deputy received 3 bites, and 5 lacerations to his right leg. He was transported to the Cumberland County Emergency Room by EMS where he required stitches to his wounds.
The owner stated the dog was up to date on its vaccinations and was bringing a copy of proof to the Sheriff’s Office.
