DRIVER HURT AFTER VEHICLE TURNS OVER TWICE ON I-40 IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY
A driver recently sustained injuries in a vehicle crash on I-40 in Cumberland County.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol says a 2023 Freightliner tractor-trailer operated by 61-year-old William Harvey Gilmore of North Carolina and a 2002 Toyota driven by 18-year-old Richard Nicholas Post of North Carolina were heading west at the 320-mile marker.
Troopers say Gilmore collided with Post while passing him.
The impact sent the Toyota off the road and turned over twice. The Toyota came to rest against a fence next to some trees.
Troopers say Post was hurt in the crash. Gilmore escaped injuries.
Gilmore was issued a citation for improper passing.
