DURHAM PULLS OUT OF ELECTION

A Tennessee lawmaker who has been under scrutiny for his alleged sexual activities while in office, has dropped out of the race for his re-election. Rep. Jeremy Durham was accused of having several inappropriate sexual contacts with young women while he was in office or as a result of his position. An over-seeing committee released a statement Wednesday that, as a result of reviewing a 48-page report prepared by the Attorney General, there was enough grounds to expel Durham. Durham said Thursday that, although the majority of the report was false and unsupportive, some of the stories and interactions were true. He accused Speaker Beth Harwell of “wanting him out of office.” Harwell said that Durham’s denials were an insult to the intelligent women who testified in the report.
