EIGHT PIPE BOMBS FOUND AFTER ONE DETONATES INJURING TWO IN MORGAN COUNTY

The TBI and Morgan County authorities continue to investigate an incident last night where a man and a pregnant woman were injured by an explosive device. Officers were called to the 600 block of Island Fork Road between Lancing and the Cumberland County line to a report of the woman being injured by a firework. After arriving, officers learned it was in fact a pipe bomb that went off in a shed where the man was working. Both were taken to UT Medical Center for treatment. A search warrant was executed and officers uncovered eight explosive devices, firearms, multiple bomb-making components and drugs. No charges have been filed at this time because of the possibility of federal involvement. The names of the two suspects have not been officially released yet.
