FEMA APPROVES $10 MILLION IN AID FOR THOSE AFFECTED BY GATLINBURG WILDFIRES
FEMA has approved $10 million in assistance for people affected in the recent Gatlinburg wildfires on November 28, 2016. The aid issued by the U.S. Small Business Administration will be available to the over 400 families registered for disaster assistance. 3 of the 10 million will go directly to Individuals and Households program, and 1.5 Million is approved for Housing Assistance. The money will be added to more than 6.8 million additional loans taken from the SBA. Anyone who lived in, worked in, or visited the affected area between the November 28 to December 9 time frame is eligible for the federal assistance, according to officials. The deadline to register form FEMA disaster assistance is February 13, 2017.
