The Morgan County Sheriff’s Department is looking into a recent incident that took place at a Morgan County school where a school resource officer left a firearm and a gun belt unattended in a school bathroom. Officials say a student at the unnamed school saw the firearm and immediately notified the office staff. By the time the staff responded to retrieve the firearm, the officer had already recovered it. The identity of the officer was not released.
