HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION IN BLEDSOE COUNTY RESULTS IN ADDITIONAL ARRESTS

An ongoing and joint investigation by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, the Bledsoe County Sheriff’s Department and the Pikeville Police Department has resulted in additional arrests in the April homicide of a Pikeville man.

At the request of 12th District Attorney General J. Michael Taylor, TBI agents joined Bledsoe County deputies and Pikeville Police officers in a missing-person investigation. Thomas R. Rogers, age 30, of Pikeville had been reported missing by a family member. The following day, a deputy later found Rogers’ body in a wooded area off Valley View Road in Pikeville. During the course of the investigation, agents and deputies developed information that resulted in 25-year-old Nakayla Sullivan being charged in connection with the homicide. Through the ongoing investigation, further information was developed indicating 22-year-old Marcelino Leal and 30-year-old Keiven Bundy also had involvement in Rogers’ death.

This week, the Bledsoe County Grand Jury returned indictments charging Sullivan with one count of conspiracy to commit first-degree murder. Leal is charged with first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, employing a firearm with intent to go armed, and aggravated assault. Bundy is charged with first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, employing a firearm with intent to go armed, and possession of weapon by a convicted felon. All three were booked at the Bledsoe County Jail, where they are currently being held without bond.
