MAN ACC– USED OF RUNNING DOWN RHEA COUNTY WORKER APPEARS IN COURT

A man accused of running over and killing a thrift store worker in Dayton appeared in court Tuesday. Douglas Alvey reportedly ran over Walter Hale in the parking lot of We Care Thrift Store while in his truck. Authorities previewing the video surveillance tapes say that the incident did not look accidental and they say they don’t believe the two men knew each other. The suspect has not talked much and won’t explain what happened. The video was used to track Alvey’s vehicle down. They say that nearly 200 vehicles were checked until a match was made on a truck located in Hamilton County. Alvey was taken into custody at a camper located off Highway 58 Friday.
