MAN ARRESTED IN ROCKWOOD FOR POSSESSION OF METH

While conducting a routine traffic stop on North Kingston Ave. in Rockwood last night (Tuesday, March 27, 2018), Roane County sheriff’s deputies detected a strong marijuana odor coming from the vehicle. The driver, 21-year-old Thomas Jack Swicegood, admitted there was marijuana in the vehicle and he had smoked prior to leaving his home. A search of his person reportedly produced a small container with a crystalline substance believed to be methamphetamine.

While speaking with a deputy, another occupant of the vehicle, 18-year-old Cora Annaleigh Snow, claimed she had smoked pot with Swicegood. While attempting to disclose where the marijuana, she passed out and was evaluated by responding EMTs, then taken to Roane Medical Center.

K9 Max detected the odor of narcotics. A search produced a vehicle ashtray with a large amount of previously smoked marijuana cigarettes. A box Ms. Snow had described contained green leafy material believed to be marijuana, along with rolling papers and a scale.

Swicegood was taken to Roane County Jail, charged with possession of methamphetamine and served with an outstanding warrant. Snow was later taken to Roane County Jail for an outstanding warrant. All substances were sent to the lab for testing.
