MAN CHARGED IN FATAL CHAPMAN HIGHWAY WRECK SATURDAY NIGHT
A Knoxville man died in a fatal auto accident on Chapman Highway Saturday night, and an Oak Ridge man has been charged in the incident. Knoxville Police say that around 6:30 PM, the driver of a Chevy pickup truck, 44-year-old Franco Cambrany Francisco-Eduardo, crossed into the opposite lane, striking a Honda Civic head-on. That resulted in a chain-reaction crash. The driver of the Civic, 22-year-old Pierce Corcoran and his passenger, 21-year-old Jade Adams, were both taken to UT Medical Center where Corcoran was later pronounced dead. Francisco-Eduardo was charged with driving without a license and no proof of insurance. Authorities say that he has also been placed on hold for immigration. The investigation is continuing.
