MAN CONVICTED OF CHILD RAPE SEEING NEW TRIAL
A man found guilty by a Roane County jury last December of multiple counts of child rape is now seeking a new trial. Court officials say 41-year-old John Paul Little was found guilty in December 2016 of four counts of rape of a child and sentenced by Judge Jeff Wicks to 120 years in prison in March 2017. Officers say the rapes by Little started when the victim was 5 years old and continued until she was 9. A hearing is scheduled in Roane County Criminal Court this upcoming Monday (November 20, 2017) where the judge will hear a motion filed by Little’s attorney requesting a new trial. The motion is part of the appeals process after a conviction in criminal court.
