MAN SHOT AND KILLED IN LOUDON COUNTY HOME, SUSPECT IN CUSTODY

LOUDON COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) — The Loudon County Sheriff’s Office said a 64-year-old man was shot and killed inside his home early Saturday morning.  The shooting happened on Dutton Road in Loudon County sometime before 9:00 a.m. The TBI assisted with the investigation that Sheriff Tim Guider said, appeared to have started as a robbery.

“It looks like there was an altercation prior to the gunshot he may have struggled… before he was shot,” said Sheriff Tim Guider.  Guider said one male suspect was taken in for questioning and that the suspect and victim knew each other.

The person of interest was taken into custody without incident at Mcghee Tyson Airport by Blount County Deputies according to the sheriff’s department. Guider said the suspect was trying to board a flight to Texas.

Guider said the victim was shot once in the head and a weapon was found at the scene.
