METH AND MARIJUANA CONFISCATED FROM ABANDONED TRUCK

A Cumberland County Deputy was able to confiscate drugs from an abandoned vehicle that had been part of a hot pursuit. According to reports, the deputy observed a Ford Truck traveling 75 mph in a 55 mph zone along Airport Road. The driver of the truck failed to stop after the officer initiated his blue lights which led to a pursuit of speeds up to 100 mph. The deputy was able to follow the truck into Morgan County, where the driver traveled a distance off of Seed Tick Road and parked at a campsite. He then fled the scene on foot. Inside the vehicle the officer discovered a bag containing 6.5 grams of methamphetamine and a bag of 6.6 grams of marijuana. Both substances were confiscated and placed into evidence.
