MICHIGAN WOMAN MAY HAVE SERVED EX-LOVER’S REMAINS AT BARBECUE

A Michigan woman, already sentenced to life in prison for the death of her former lover, may have served his remains as barbecue to unsuspecting neighbors.

With a plot similar to “Fried Green Tomatoes,” Kelly Marie Cochran now says she and her then-husband chopped up and killed Chris Regan and then served his remains at a neighborhood barbecue in 2014.

Cochran also pleaded guilty in April of 2018 to the strangulation death of her husband, Jason Cochran in 2016 and received a 65-year sentence.

Court documents say Kelly Cochran told investigators she killed her husband because he took “the only good thing” in her life with Regan’s death. Michigan prosecutors maintained she lured Regan to her home, where her husband shot Regan and then helped dismember him and hide his remains in the woods.

Investigation Discovery, producing a documentary of Cochran’s exploits titled “Dead North” said in a statement that neighbors believed they were served human remains, possibly Regan’s, at a barbecue.

One friend who was interviewed in the documentary also described eating a strange-tasting burger without realizing at the time it could have been human.

Cochran’s family told investigators that she might have killed as many as nine people and buried the bodies across the Midwest. According to her family, Cochran said she had other “friends” in Indiana, Tennessee, Michigan and Minnesota.
