A North Carolina teacher is facing charges of engaging in sex acts with a student while employed by the Cherokee County Schools System. The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Department began an investigation into a report that 26-year-old Kayla Sprinkles had been sexually involved with a student. Investigators presented their findings to the grand jury, which indicted Sprinkles on five counts of sex activity with a student. Sprinkles turned herself in to the Mecklenburg County Detention Center. Sprinkles was served the indictments, and released on bond. She is expected to be in superior court on July 2.
