NATURAL GAS BILLS GOING UP IN ROCKWOOD
Rockwood natural gas customers will see an increase in their gas bills this year following this week’s meeting of the Water Wastewater and Natural Gas Systems Board. A bill around $65 a month will increase to about $81 according to estimates revealed at the meeting. The reason for the increase was the past warm winters the area has experienced, along with purchasing gas at a fixed rate and the increase of the purchase price. Board members didn’t see anyway from increasing the rates which have not been changed in four years. Gas rates for Rockwood gas customers in comparison to neighboring utilities has been lower than their neighboring utilities.
