NEW FIRETRUCKS TO BE PURCHASED FOR CROSSVILLE

The City of Crossville will have a new ladder truck and pump truck soon. At last night’s city council meeting (October 10, 2017), members approved a request to purchase the two new trucks at a total price of 1.7 million dollars. Mayor Pro Tem J.H. Graham III made the motion for the purchase and received a quick second. The motion passed unanimous. With prepaying for the trucks, the city saved $185,000. The two will replace a 1993 pumper and send a 1994 ladder truck to reserve use for the fire department. Crossville Fire Department Chief Mike Turner told 105.7 News that the 107 foot ladder truck will provide coverage to any structure in the city in case of a fire. The current ladder truck would have a hard time reaching the top of parts of Cumberland Medical Center and Colinx. The new ladder and pump truck for the fire department is expected to arrive sometime mid to late next year.
