NEW UNEMPLOYMENT RATES RELEASED SHOW RISE IN COVERAGE AREA
New data released minutes ago by the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development showed the vast majority of counties in the state with unemployment rates below 5 percent. In the coverage area, all but one went up:
Rhea County – 5.5 percent (current) 4.7 percent previous
Meigs County – 5.4 percent (current) 3.9 percent previous
Cumberland County – 5.2 percent (current) 4.2 percent previous
Bledsoe County – 5.1 percent (current) 5 percent previous
Pickett County – 4.5 percent (current) 4.2 percent previous
Fentress County – 4.2 percent (current) 4.1 percent previous
McMinn County – 3.8 percent (current) 3.5 percent previous
Roane County – 3.6 percent (current) 3.5 percent previous
Morgan County – 3.5 percent (current) 3.5 percent previous
Loudon County – 3.2 percent (current) 3.1 percent previous
