Several reports have come in concerning receiving phone calls from individuals who say they are from the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office. They sound official and identify themselves as Sgt. Michaels or Sgt. Cooper. They are telling individuals that they have a warrant and it needs to be paid or they will arrest you. The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office does not make phone calls requesting money. If you actually receive a call from the sheriff’s office, they will request you come to their office to receive a civil process but never to solicit money.
