Cumberland County deputies arrested three local men in connection with a road-rage incident Sunday evening.

Deputies were dispatched to a residence on the 200 block of Dublin Drive, where they met up with 21-year-old Dakota Curtis Ray, who stated his fiancée had been run off the road by another woman. According to the arrest report, Dakota alleged the woman “constantly speeds up and down Dublin Drive” in front of his home and they “have told her several times to slow down.” Dakota claimed 36-year-old Joseph Eugene Flury had exited the vehicle and threw something at Dakota’s fiancée’s vehicle.

Dakota admitted he had gone to a home on the 700 block of Timothy Drive, to confront Flury about the road-rage incident. A physical altercation ensued, during which Dakota said he hit Joseph in the face. Joseph then allegedly chased him with a baseball bat.

Joseph told deputies Dakota and his brother came to his home to start a fight. The driver of the vehicle that sparked the road-rage incident claimed she was restrained by Dakota’s brother so she couldn’t get entangled in the fracas between Joseph and Dakota.

Meanwhile, Dakota’s fiancée said the brothers’ father, George Thomas Ray,  age 40, was en route to the Timothy Drive residence.

Upon arriving at Timothy Drive, the deputies saw George and Dakota leaving and the Flurys emerging from the back of the residence. Another man at the scene collapsed at the front door after suffering what deputies described as “what appeared to be a seizure.” He was taken back into the house to await arrival of EMS. The man was transported to Cumberland Medical Center for evaluation.

The man’s son told deputies that, when George Ray arrived, his father answered the door and was hit in the head by a baseball bat.

George and Dakota Ray both admitted they “were there to settle things because Joseph Flury had busted out the passenger side window and both headlights” of their vehicle.

Dakota’s brother led the deputy to where the baseball bat lay in a wooded area. It was embedded with several fine pieces of glass, consistent with having been used to break a window.

George Ray was charged with felony aggravated assault and aggravated criminal trespass and placed under $12,000 bond. Dakota Ray was charged with aggravated criminal trespass and placed under $6,000 bond. He had to call for a tow truck to remove the vehicle, as he had lost his keys during the physical altercation.

Joseph Flury was charged with vandalism and reckless endangerment and placed under $6,500 bond.

All three are due in court January 14.
