The Roane County Industrial Development Board and the Plateau Partnership Park Industrial Development Board met in a joint session recently. Discussions were focused on the development and marketing of the Park which is located alongside Interstate 40 and is co-owned by Cumberland and Morgan Counties.The Industrial Development Board has about $1,500,000 of the $7,500,000 original borrowings. The majority of the funds were spent on purchasing the property with the remaining for site engineering, studies, and permits. The Board sold a small tract of the property to a solar company in 2016. According to Ray Evans, PPP consultant, the PPP site is one of only about
three sites of this size in the state. The board along with the county leadership is hoping the state will take on the site as a state investment.
