ROANE COUNTY RESIDENTS UPSET OVER HIGH SCHOOL CONSOLIDATION PROPOSAL
A large crowd gathered at Harriman Middle School Thursday night for the monthly Roane County Board of Education meeting. Most were on hand to voice opposition to the Board’s recent decision to consolidate all of the county’s high schools into one central location. Most of the resistance came from Oliver Springs residents. After a review of the subject, members decided to hold a work session in order to gather more data on the plan and to possibly make another decision. The session is scheduled on April 6 at 6:30 PM EST at the Central Municipal Building in Kingston.
