Yesterday at around 3:18 in the morning Deputy Brandon Griffin made contact with a woman in the Justice Center lobby regarding a fraud or theft report. The woman said she received a bill in the mail that day at around noon, and said the bill was from the University of Tennessee DermPath for the value of $310.

The woman said she had never been to that office and did not have an appointment with that office, and the bill said the visit was on June 22, 2024. She said she contacted the office and spoke with a manager by the name of Cora who told her that they would lock all transactions and investigate it.

The woman thought the transaction was locked but received the bill anyway. She then said she spoke to the MD who said he had an identification on file that matched the woman’s description.

The victim did not have an identification card stolen so she does not know how they had an ID on her.

Currently, there are no suspects.
