If you are traveling westbound on I-40, be in-the-know about a rolling roadblock in the vicinity of mile marker 283 beginning tonight(2-13). The Tennessee Department of Transportation says work will begin to remove the existing bridge over I-40 at the Mine Lick Creek interchange. The work is expected to be completed by Thursday, Feb. 16th. The contractor will utilize rolling roadblocks on I-40 during the nighttime hours of 8:30PM to 5:30AM. THP will assist with the rolling roadblock during this time. All detour signs to direct the motoring public for the closed bridge are in place. All motorists are strongly advised to use the detours while work is being performed for the safety of the public.
