RUE 21 IN CROSSVILLE TO CLOSE
Teen retailer Rue 21 has decided to close some 400 stores nationwide to put more of its attention to online sales. Rue21 announced over the weekend that it had made the “difficult but necessary decision” to close hundreds of stores. According to the companies website, one of those closings is the store in Crossville, Tennessee located at The Crossings on North Main Street. The Rue 21 in Bradley Square Mall in Cleveland, Tennessee will also close. The store located in Athens, Tennessee at Congress Crossings and the one in Cookeville in Jackson Plaza was spared. An official closing date of the stores on the list was not disclosed.
The closures represent more than a third of the Pennsylvania-based chain’s 1,100 locations in malls, outlets, and strip centers across the U.S.
