Cumberland County firefighters were called out Saturday night to address a small structure fire. According to officials, the alarm went out at around 7:30 PM to a block building located on Rock Quarry Rd. that was already engulfed when crews arrived. Although it has not been confirmed, residents in the area said that they had heard an explosion and dense smoke was observed on the scene. Six trucks, including crews from Carb Orchard and Hebbertsburg, along with 22 firefighters  battled the blaze for around five hours before it was brought under control. The building was being occupied at the time of the fire, but no one was injured. No damage estimate has been released as yet the building was determined to be a total loss.
