The second round of the TSAAA high school football playoffs kicked off last night. In Class 1A, Coalfield defeated Cloudland 29 to 24 and Greenback won over Oliver Springs 33 to 12. In Class 2A, Meigs County over Rockwood 28 to 14. In Class 3A, Upperman 44 York Institute 14. In Class 4A, Anderson County over Elizabethton 54 to 21. In Class 5A, Oak Ridge defeated Soddy Daisy 40 to 23 and in Class 6A, Maryville 42 Science Hill 7 and Farragut over Ooltewah 49 to 14.

The quarterfinals will be held Friday, November 16, 2018. Here are the matchups involving teams in the listening area:

CLASS 1A – Coalfield (8-4) @ Greenback (12-0)

CLASS 2A – Meigs County (12-0) vs South Greene (8-4)

CLASS 4A – Anderson County (12-0) vs Greeneville (12-0)

CLASS 5A – Oak Ridge (10-2) vs Knox Catholic (8-3)

CLASS 6A – Maryville (11-1) vs Farragut (11-1)
