SHOOTING IN COOKEVILLE BEING INVESTIGATED AS “DOMESTIC VIOLENCE” INCIDENT

What is being investigated as a “domestic violence” incident is underway after one person died and two others were wounded in a shooting incident in the parking lot of the Ficosa Plant in Cookeville. According to authorities the incident took place at 10:35 AM involving two females and one male with the shooter being identified as one of the women. Police say that it’s uncertain how the trouble started, but the shooter was able to wound the man and the other woman before turning the gun on herself taking her own life. Both the male and female victims worked at the plant located off I-40 in the New Highlands Business Park. It’s unclear if the deceased shooter worked there also. Officials stated that the man was taken to Cookeville Hospital while the other female was airlifted to Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga. At the time this report was filed, both were described as having critical wounds. An estimated 250-300 people work at the automobile mirror plant which moved about a year ago from Crossville.
