Monday night, as Rockwood police brought 36-year-old Jason Allen Spradling into intake at the Roane County Detention Facility, officers cautioned him that anything found in, on or about him could result in additional charges. Spradling pulled two packages of Suboxone sublingual strips from his buttocks.

When asked if there was anything else, he is said to have replied, “No, that should be it.”

But it wasn’t.

During a subsequent search, he was asked again about contraband. He pulled out another Suboxone sublingual strip, from the same nether region.

Spradling was charged with public intoxication, two counts of simple possession or casual exchange, two counts of possession of a legend drug without a prescription and introduction of contraband into a penal institution.
