The Tennessee Dept. of Transportation has had many different road projects on their plate for several years. One of those calls for the proposed widening of a portion of Highway 127 North in Cumberland County. Two projects have been proposed: One from near Potato farm Road to near Hollow Lane with the second being from Hollow Lane to near Lowe Road. The proposed project would build a two-lane undivided section containing two 12 foot travel lanes, and two 12 foot shoulders (10 foot paved). The proposed projects will maintain corridor preservation and allow for future expansion. Project Number STP/NH-28(32) is 2.494 miles in length and Project Number HPP/NH-28(37) is 3.045 miles in length. TDOT is seeking public input on these proposals and have called for a meeting Thursday, Feb. 1 from 5-7 PM at North Cumberland Elementary School.
